Wild Woman Summer Camp | 2021

Wild Woman Summer Camp 2021 was nothing short of EPIC! Our inaugural year kicked off with three days and two nights at KitFox in Galisteo, New Mexico, and even included a day-trip to the Pecos mountains to beat the heat.

KitFox set the stage for an incredible Summer Solstice weekend with luxurious tents and gracious hospitality amidst the expansive New Mexico desert. We even had rainbows and lightning shows to add to the spectacular backdrop!

“I had no idea what to expect but the wild women and experience were incredible! My heart feels warm just thinking about it! [It was] fantastic - luxurious glamping with amazing hospitality.”

-Ang R., New Mexico

We ate like desert queens at Wild Woman Summer Camp with the culinary magic from Dig + Serve. Each meal was organic, inspiring, healthy and delicious and the solar snow cones made with local cherry and mint were to DIE FOR! Roughing it never tasted so good!

“I didn't eat a thing all weekend that I thought was just good, it was all AMAZING! The ingredients were so fresh, the preparation was expert and truly so delicious.”
-Meg C., Colorado

One of the favorite activities at Wild Woman Summer Camp was our excursion to the Pecos River to shape sun hats with Sam of Ramblin Rose Hat Co . We lounged by rock pools and picnicked in the cool shade of the tall pines of our mountain retreat. We had so much fun adorning our hats with feathers, beads, claws and crystals!

Well I've got to say what a transformational weekend this was for me! […] Beyond all expectations! Wild Woman Summer Camp went all out! Every detail is an inspiration. Each activity packed with information and pure fun! Ladies giggling! Smiles on every face the whole time! Next year! I'm In! Outstanding job Jess and all of the beautiful, generous, educational course coaches! Ramblin Rose, Sol Maven, KitFox to name a few. Well done to all involved!”

Our “Safety Third” series started with a primitive fire lighting demonstration with Jessie Baca and continued with a lesson about the natural medicines from local plant life from Jessica Brown. Campers took part in an archery lesson from our counselor Amina Akhil with the great wide open New Mexico desert to practice our aim! Along with hiking the great trails around camp, we started every morning off with a movement and meditation practice led by Monique Gomez. Our four-legged horse pals even joined us for a lil’ desert trail ride through the Galisteo Basin. It was so great to have Colleen and her crew from Cloud Nine Trails with us!

“It was worth every penny - more valuable and impactful than just a vacation. It was so incredible, meaningful, and liberating in a way. It felt so good to be around other people, especially such strong awesome women out in [New Mexico]. It was really fun to get little gifts throughout the weekend - I love it all!”

Our campers received SWAG bags filled with goodies like hand-dyed socks, essential oil bug repellent, “Wild Woman” Opinel knives and our fave book “Women Who Run with the Wolves.” We were so excited to feature products from small, female-owned businesses like the Sun Shield from Taos Bee, Two Deserts Soap from Wonder Valley , enamel pins from Lisbeth Cort , Solstice stickers from Night Bird and a hand-screened bandanas from MexiModern.

SEE YOU IN 2022!
